got one like it at HF, then mounted it to a 2'x4' -3/4" peice of plywood. bike stands perfect.

also got one of their bike dollys for my R*... rolls right up and you can move it around the garage nicely.

so does that mean it requires the plywood board or can it be used free-standing? I was hoping to hang it up on the garage wall when not in use to save space....

no, i was just a little nervous and not wanting my project bike tipping over into my baby. its only 3 bolts holding it to the wood and i unbolt and slide under my bench.

How's that project coming along? What kind of plans do you have for it?

That almost looks like the Condor Stand. Waiting to hear your review of it. Especially since the Condor is $230 with trailer mount.

Put mine together and played with it a bit while I was running the Bike...

1) stupid simple assembly. 2 bolts, 2 pins. Voila.

2) I think the guys are right - It'll be WAY easier to use if you mount it to something... the BKing was just pushing it forward. I think when it warms up enough to use it regularly, I'll just mount it to an 8' 2x12. I think it's wide enough to be stable by itself, but that way the weight of the bike will keep it in place in stead of pushing it.

also, I have that same wheel cleaning stand (had it for a few years now)... works pretty well. It'd work way better if there was a way to get it under the wheel while the bike was upright (not on the side stand).

I could (and have...) spend a small fortune at Harbor Freight...

So i picked up one of these stands a couple weeks ago at harbor freight and I'm really happy with it. The only down side is that it slides when you try to load the bike. A situation I was able to remedy by screwing 6" x 6' rip of plywood to it. I'll probably put a little wider one on eventually, but thats what i had sitting in my garage. If you plan on doing some wrenching on the bike, its totally worth the $60. It keeps the bike pretty damn stable and upright, plus i figure if i have to trailer my bike at some point it will really come in handy. I suppose I should have posted this in the product review section, but too late now.
