Denim Motorcycle Jeans
I'm considering trying out a pair of denim motorcycle jeans - the kind with kevlar-reinforced areas.
Does anyone have experience with these? Any brands that you'd recommend or not and why? I have heard that the kevlar does not breathe very well and can be quite uncomfortable in warmer weather...true/false? Wondering if these dedicated denim jeans are worth getting over just regular denim jeans.....

you know...about 2 or 3 seasons ago, HD had some great pants w reinforcement in the knees and rear...and they were uncommonly cheap at like $45!
They obviously sold out pretty fast. The next season, thier proection denim jumped up significantly.. Thom- ive always liked yamaha brand clothing, not just cause i rode yamaha, but cause they were actually made pretty well. I had my eyes on a reasonably priced pants w/ reinforcements and some textile pants too...id check out the Start website to see what tthey have...and it doesnt have Yamaha plastered all over it either..

I've got a pair of the Joe Rocket Steel jeans. They've got metal woven into panels in the butt and knees. They're heavy denim, and the construction is very good. Breathability is ok. I don't care for the cut. It's a baggy/relaxed cut, with a lot of room in the thighs and knees.
Honestly, I don't wear them too often. Mostly becuase of the cut, and I'm not convinced they would offer more protection than any other pair of jeans. I've read good reviews on some of the Icon jeans/pants. I might give them a try next.

Men's Diamond Gusset Jeans | Defender Motorcycle Jean W29-44
I don't own any yet, I like the gusset idea in the crotch for some extra room/comfort. Also the tab to tighten them at the boot tops is nice. Last edited by StilCrazee; 05-15-2010 at 11:12 PM.. |
