Going Postal!.....
*&^%$#@!
Before I sent this off, I deliberated on how to do this and even asked the guy working the counter at the post office. I sent a cashier's check for a large sum of money via USPS Priority Mail w/ Signature Confirmation last Friday. I tracked it to it's destination in TX only to get a "Misroute" message on the USPS website. I called and after 20 minutes navigating on their automated voice system I finally get a human being at USPS. He states that the package was misrouted but assured me that it ws still in TX where it's destination was supposed to be. The website showed it was scheduled to be delivered today..... I check this morning and the tracker says it was sorted thru Elk Grove Village, IL as of this morning!!! WTF?!?!? It seems like they sent it back to Illinois! I was thinking maybe it's coming back to me but nothing as of today... I called and after struggling to get another human being at USPS, she tells me she doesn't even see the last destination as Elk Grove Village....After explaining to her the nature and contents of my package and how important it was, she tells me there is nothing more she can do and hangs up on me!!!! I say again, WTF?!?! ![]()

Looks like another part for Sookie? hehehehe Sorry to hear that. I usually go via Fed Ex now. A little more pricey, but it gets there and they have better customer svc.

That sucks! It's a good example of why the USPS is losing ground to UPS, FedEx and others. You should report the incident the head of the postal facility you dealt with. Better yet, visit the facility and....

Hey Thom
I finally got my package like 45 days later- if you remembered, it had all the confirmation and insurance and such. I've learned a few things- - anxiety about your stuff suck. - keep calling but at some point, you'll know more than the ppl shipping your stuff. -dont call in the evening. They let college kids run the show and they are clueless..... - track all of your calls and keep a log Thom, I have faith that your package will turn up. Not anytime soon, but it'll come buddy.... Hang in there!

Bet your envelope/package will show up tomorrow. I had a simialr incident a few weeks back with a package sent from my biz to the wrong address in Naperville, it came back after disappearing in Elk Grove.
Also had a package tried to send to and address I can mail an envelpoe to but when I try to do priority mail label it rejects the address, go figure. I switched from shipping packages UPS to Fed Ex and just recently dropped them and switched to USPS. Both FedEx and UPS lost packages or had ground issues to my customers in NW Indiana on a pretty regular basis, so figuring that any carrier can lose a package just the same I quit the others and am saving almost $700 per year pick up fees. |

I got one for ya, my paycheck stub.....gets mailed to me at home after my direct deposit. The envelope has my full name, first, middle and last on it. It gets routed to another town, every time. They write, Doesnt live here, then I get it 2 weeks later. I have taken it in to the post office, with other mail and my DL. Showed them that everything on the envelope is 100% correct. Why does it get routed 2 towns over, and take 2 weeks to get to me.
Their response to me after doing some digging............... the people that lived here before me, their last name was Joseph. My middle name is Joseph. It is on the address line. Because of that, my mail is going to the old tennants at their new address under their forwarding. Why? They have no other explanation, and told me that I have to fill out a mail forwarding slip and submit it to have it fixed. I asked the obvious question.....I am supposed to fill out a mail forwarding slip from my current address to my current address? lol. WTF?! |

this morning the tracker indicates it was processed through sort facility in Chicago....could it be making it's way back to me?!?!
And if it did come back to me, can I go back to the Post Office to ger a refund for the postal charges since it never made it to it's original designation in TX? Not much, but it's more the principle of the matter, plus I'm going to log a complaint.... At this point I would be happy just getting it back so I can cancel the cashier's check and just wire the damn money.... ![]()
